With over 30 years experience making films with young people the YIFM team deliver specially designed, practical and fun filmmaking workshops for young people between the ages of 10 and 20 years. These workshops include screenwriting, directing and production skills (camera, lighting, sound, etc).
Our team of dedicated film training facilitators head out all over the country to schools, community groups and youth organisations. The workshops are an ideal activity for Transition Year Students, youth groups who want to do something different over a holiday break and learners with an interest in digital media, storytelling and film.
Over three days the participants write, shoot and edit their own short film and even get to watch a rough cut at the end of the third day. Our facilitators with real industry experience guide the students every step of the way and instruct them how to use the cameras, microphones and editing software so by the end they have all the skills needed to go out and shoot their own films!
We can also offer online filmmaking workshops and training for youth workers and teachers who want to make films with their young people and students.
