The YIFMA’S is a film festival held in Kilkenny. The festival is brought to you by Young Irish Film Makers who also happen to be celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. The YIFMA’S were set up to celebrate the work done by YIFM at its headquarters in Kilkenny and with its outreach programme which works with Youth Organisations, Garda Diversion Units, Community Groups and Schools all over the country.
YIFM started its outreach progamme as a way of reaching out and working with young people all over the country. Outreaches main focus is with young people from disadvantaged and rural backgrounds. This is a way fro these groups to gain access to equipment and training that might not otherwise be available to them. Along with also training youth workers, follow up support is also provided in the form of technical support , online tutorials and advice from our YIFM facilitators.
