Mar 20, 2011

Young Irish Film Makers celebrated their 20th Birthday in style by setting up their very own TV Studio right here in Kilkenny on St. Patrick’s Day. The young crew entertained the passing crowds with young peoples short films on big screens beside the studio. Peter O’Connor from YIFM acted as the on air presenter for the day and interviewed well known figures from the local community about what it means to be Irish and what St Patricks Day means to them.

Minister Phil Hogan and TD Ann Phelan were there to talk to the young crew ‘live on air’ about their thoughts and views around the festivities. Also on screen were the Mayor of Kilkenny Martin Brett, the former mayor Cllr. Malcolm Noonan, Paul Young of Cartoon Saloon and the marshall of the parade Christen Mooney who played the part of Aisling in the oscar nominated film ‘The Secret of Kells’.
