Young Irish Film Makers have dedicated film training facilitators that head out all over the country to schools, community groups and youth organisations. The majority of work in schools is done with Transition Year and School Completion Programmes.

The group will also learn how to edit a film using the latest software and an Apple Mac computer. At the end of the programme each participant walks away with a Digital Download copy of their very own movie.

The YIFM team deliver specially designed, practical and fun film making workshops for young people between the ages of 8 and 18years. These workshops include screenwriting, acting, directing and production skills (camera, lighting, sound, etc).

YIFM now offers virtual film making workshops as well as physically! The workshop content is the same and participants still create their own movie from start to finish!

The YIFM is a valued contributor to Fresh Film Festival and has consistently high production standards in their films. The office and outreach staff are attentive, reliable and interested in promoting and developing the work of young people.

Fresh Film Festival
The process of getting young people to come up with an idea and follow the film making practice and see an end result. This works particular well for young people who need to see out come.
Youth Worker
Young people became very creative, encouraged to write the script themselves. Cast and crew roles were identified for the young people by the young people.
